The article makes a valid point about the shift in market, but it neither refers to Minecraft’s displacement of Lego, nor to Lego’s continued refusal to release full colorways of their pieces. With kids’ blocks a boring subset of the complexity (in both hue and in programmability) available in their nearest competitor, which has zero IAP for a full spectrum of pieces, this writing feels as beige as the bricks it describes.
