Not clear how you submit new listings to this site. I'd like to get my little RTS https://github.com/simonw/battledrones on there - I released it yesterday (Apache 2.0 license) and it's already attracted a fork that translates it to French and redoes the graphics to be 1900s Belle Époque steampunk: https://simonwillison.net/2026/Oct/21/panache/

A lot of these collections doesn't make a difference between a game engine and the actual playable game.

OpenTTD is an open source game, you can download it and play it as is right now, everything is included.

OpenMW is an open source engine but not an open source game per se, you need to purchase Morrowind on Steam or GOG to actually play the game itself.

A good source of open source (non-AI at least for now) games is wikipedia.

It feels like an alternate reality where all games are Claude-generated.

Thanks everyone, I'm listening to all feedback and will take into account. Working on making it clear how to submit new games for now.

Also append /tag-no-ai as desired.

Aren’t these just low-effort vibe coded slop games?

I don’t see the point of any of this.

That's not necessarily the whole story; it actually also collects pre-AI projects, for example:

> Jazz² Resurrection

> Play Jazz Jackrabbit 2 with a portable engine and modern control support.

I agree to an extent, though - having a filter by year would be useful (and quite ironic: "older than 2025" :))

As a kid, I would have been all over this. The signal to noise ratio is pretty bad, but that was also true for shareware collections (how about another implementation of Mahjongg) and it didn't stop me. Granted, kids these days probably have other ways to spend their time.
